Morioh Town Guide – Exploring the Setting of Diamond is Unbreakable
Discover the town of Morioh, its landmarks, size, and role in JoJo
Morioh (杜王町, Moriō-chō) is the fictional town that serves as the setting for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable and the Morioh High Roblox game. This guide covers the town's geography, landmarks, and real-world inspiration.
What Is Morioh?
Morioh is a fictional town located within Japan's M Prefecture, in the city of S. It is the primary setting of the fourth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Diamond is Unbreakable, which takes place in 1999. The town is described as a peaceful, rural suburb — but beneath its calm surface, Stand users and supernatural events are a constant presence.
Is Morioh a Real Place?
Morioh is not a real place, but it is inspired by the real world. Creator Hirohiko Araki based Morioh on his hometown of Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Many location names in Morioh are inspired by real places in the Sendai area, giving the fictional town a grounded, authentic feel.
How Big Is Morioh?
Morioh has a population of approximately 58,713 (as of 1994 in the series). It is a relatively small town, which contributes to its close-knit community atmosphere. Travelers passing through Morioh must go through a tunnel to reach the town from the south, giving it a somewhat isolated feel.
Key Landmarks
Morioh features numerous landmarks, many of which are tied to Stand users and key events in the series:
- Budogaoka High School (葡萄丘高校) — The main school in northwest Morioh.
- Boing-Boing Cape — A coastal landmark on the outskirts of town.
- Anjuro "Angelo" Rock — A sentient rock formation and Stand user.
- Rohan Kishibe's House — The home and studio of the manga artist Rohan Kishibe.
- Morioh-Cho Hall — A public building in the town center.
- Various homes, restaurants, stores, and businesses — The town has a full range of civilian locations.
